All the farm animals and colors, its just so amazing... Our family vacation to the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, man... Life is super sweet!!!! She is my happiness, I love this little girl so much...

Graduation 2011 is here and I had a fantastic time shooting both of these Seniors. We moved around the streets of Houston and had a great time. No, this is not Usher and nor is it one of the girls from America's Top Model. His name is Jonovan and her name is Domenique. They got asked for their autograph while we were out on their shoot. That sure is a compliment to them. : ) .....

I had the pleasure of watching this beautiful day unfold for Ms. Ashley and Mr. Wesley. It was such a beautiful November day. I loved photographing this couple. One of the most touching moments during this wedding was getting to read the engraving that the bride had put in her groom's ring that read "Till my forever ends"... I couldn't stop crying after I read that. It was absolutely "Touching"!! I wish you guys much happiness and Congratulations..

Bad Santa!

So we went for our traditional Santa Picture and it didn't go so well. We thought the many days of her looking up at the big Santa at our house would ease her into Santa's lap, but "NOPE"...she freaked in true traditional style. I couldn't decide which one was funnier, so I bought both. I look at both of them and they make me laugh... (hahahahah). Creating traditions, that's what I want to do. We took our girl to the Old Macdonald Farm to experience her 1st opportunity at a Pumpkin Patch. She loved it, or well, sort of. She was scared of the animals and didn't really like the hay. She enjoyed the train ride and the picking of the pumpkins. I also had her "fall" shoot in mind as well, tis the only reason for my SLR camera; otherwise, I won't lug, babysit, or carry that thing around. I usually only take my point and shoot, but... we got some good ones. It was great, Grandma and Uncle Jacob came too.

She loved picking out the baby pumpkins!

She needed a drink after all that.

Happy Birthday Baby Girl!

I can't believe it, it went so fast, one year ago, I gave birth to my baby girl. I never knew what I had missing in my life. I find myself in such a rush to get home after work and spend every possible minute with her. She is such a blessing in my life!! She came at the right time. We went to her one year check up where we received her stats, weighing in at 25.12 lbs making her in the 97% range, Ht: 31 inches, putting her in the 95% range for her age group. I don't suspect she'll be tall simply because I'm at awe at how tall I made it. My Mom was only about 5'1, and my Dad was about 5'7 in his "prime". I'm 5'7. - I'm guessing it's the German, because it sure isn't from my Mom's side. She received 3 shots on her birthday and one "prick" on the finger to test for "Anemia". She was a real trooper, except she was a bit drowsy for the rest of the day, including towards the end of the night at her Birthday Party. It was a wonderful celebration, and now I don't know what to do with all of her loot. I think I am going to have convert my office to a "play room".

My oh my, she won't stop growing. She's a whopping 26.01 lbs already/ She is 5 days away from turning 11 months old. On Monday before she got into Grandma's pool, she stood a complete 5-8 seconds on her own unassisted. It won't be long before my little one is walking instead of crawling all over the place. She also had to say goodbye to her caretaker affectionately known as "Grandma and Po Po". It broke my heart, but hopefully she will be able to go and visit them. : )

I just keep getting bigger and bigger, in fact, almost everyone that sees me comments on how healthy I look. I think that's just a nice way of people telling me that I look plump or that I'm a big size for 9 1/2 months. I do weigh in a whopping 24.14 lbs. I guess breast milk does a body too good. I've been crawling now for 2 1/2 weeks and I've mastered crawling my kitchen and living room area. I love it when anyone holds my hands and helps me walk, cuz that's what I plan to do next. Look out world, I'm gonna run you down.

It's so neat to photograph siblings because I know later in life they will so appreciate looking back and remembering those oh so care free days. I've been wanting to photograph this little cutie for some time now. I wanted to thank her Mommy (Rebecca) for offering to give me "baby items" when I first found out I was pregnant. I never did get to take her up on her offer simply because I had so many other blessings in advance that I just couldn't use it all. So to give her a special thank you in the form of a gift, I decided what better than a few photographs of her one and only. I did a sweet mini in front of her house, and she (Ms. S) was awesome. She took to me pretty fast, or was it that her Grandpa and Mommy were right behind me?

I just couldn't stop laughing when I took these pictures. I think she kept looking at me wondering what was just so funny. She didn't think it was funny. I like sunny days and playtime on the beach. Yes, that's right, just 7 minutes away from my house and I'm on the beach. I love it! So far, it's still a little too cold for me to step my feet in, but no doubt, I will be in that water soon enough. My cousins and Uncle J stood in the water without me, but that's because their older, and well, they can walk right in, I can't even crawl yet.

I've been a bit grumpy lately, but I finally have a single tooth that you can not only feel, but see. It sticks out so hopefully one day soon my Mommy will be able to show you. I haven't started crawling yet, but I can sure maneuver my way around. Today was a great day at the park and shopping with Mommy and Daddy was so much fun. I got an addition to my stroller, a travel cot, and a new car seat that will hold me up to 65lbs. I Love shopping at USA Baby...er.. well uh my Mommy does!! I hear the Easter Bunny is around the corner, and can't wait to see those egss that I keep hearing about.

So I'm 3 days away from my 7 month Celebration. I've always slept through the night, so no change there, but...I have been eating a lot of baby food and cereal. I just last night started to move backwards, so...look out, I should be crawling here really soon. I actually stood on my knees and went backwards. It was a small move, but I did it. Oh, and I think I'm doomed to be behind a camera for the rest of my life. I may not appreciate it now, but I know I will when I get older.

So, since I have had 3 ear infections and RSV for babies, my Mommy and Daddy took me to the Doctor again. On my way up, I pooped in my pants and got it everywhere down my leg, my back . I had to take a bath in the sink of the Doctor's office. "How embarrassing is that?" The previous day, I got my ear's pierced. I can't wait till I am older and get to go earring shopping with my Momma.

Thanks Grandma!! I appreciate you being persistent about me going to the doctor and then taking care of me after you found out what was wrong. My Mommy has had the pleasure of taking 3 months off to take care of me + an additional 2 months of vacation that only required my Mommy to work 2 days out of the week. I have loved spending time with her and my Daddy, but today she sat me down and told me the most horrible news that I have heard in my ENTIRE life:

Mommy: "Serenity, Mommy has something to tell you."

Serenity: "Yes Mommy, what is it?"

Mommy: "I have to go back to work full time this week, which means I can't stay with you as much as you have been used to." "You know you mean the world to me, but sometimes we have to do things in life that don't make us happy. " "I love you my little Sweet Pea."

Serenity: "No-ooooooooooooo, please don't go back to work full time, I promise I'll be good"

Happy 2010! As usual, the hubby and I along with our new edition headed to Dayton for our annual poker game, burning of the Christmas Trees, fireworks, and celebration of John's Birthday. We look forward to it every year, spending time with family and friends. This year we didn't take the 4 wheelers and do the typical "mudding' that we have come to love. Our new edition makes doing things a bit more difficult. For the 2nd time, yours truly WON her 2nd trophy, Yeah!! Too Bad so Sad Aunt Kathy!!

Eaten's Good!

Ok, so I have procrastinated long enough on getting my little one started into solid foods. You see the Doc told me that when I start her on solid foods, it's going to be like a diet for her. She's been eating Momma's breast Milk and at 5 months because of her cough, I took her to the Doctor, and she weighed in at a whopping 18lbs 8 oz. At her 4 month check-up, she was already in the 97% for her age group. Thank goodness her height is proportionate to her weight; otherwise she might look like one cute plump butter-ball.

December 4th, 2009 is one day to remember, 1st Deeba and Adam were married, 2nd, it snowed that day here in Houston. I must say "Congratulations to this wonderful couple." They were really great to work with, especially the groom having a "hurt/broken" foot, and you would have never known it. They wore beautiful matching attire with some of the most vivid colors. I was in photography heaven. The Bride's Aunt sent over this beautiful matching veil from India and it just completed her look. It looked amazing on this beautiful bride.

Wow, I had such a great time photographing this new bride getting ready. It's amazing to see how happy this couple is with each other. She held a beautiful party at the Hilton in Clear Lake that honored mostly the bride, but included an appearance by the groom. Their big day will be on December 4th. I can't wait to see them finally tie the knot. Congratulations Adam and Deeba!!

I am so pleased to have photographed this family. Why, you ask? It's because I give thanks to the time given by the Mom you see here along with her Mom, not pictured. For the past year and a half, they helped me take care of my Dad and became part of his primary care. She has been a friend for about 10 years now, but I am forever grateful to have had them both in mine and my Dad's life. I hope that I can give them pictures that last a lifetime, just as they have given me the gratitude I will have for them for the rest of my life. God Bless this Family!!

This was one great big family. Our shoot was late in the evening, but everyone was a real trooper. We had a great time, or at least the kids did with their strawberry popsicles, and the lure of one dollar bills being handed out for smiles. I shot this family about 2 years ago, and there has been an addition since. In fact, one of the boys was in his mommies tummy on our last shoot. It's great to see the expansion of this wonderful family.

So you ask what is a toddler doing with a cell phone right? Well, that's because the only way to get her to sit for this shoot was to talk on the phone with her favorite Uncle and that's exactly what she did. Through it all, she was loads of fun and full of energy. As you can see, she has just told her Mommy, "The Party's over. Let's hit the road, I'm ready for my nap time".

Not only were they grubbing on some pizza, but they were sliding down a big wet slide. The party was an absolute success and there were plenty of smiling faces...

I met two special people and their names are Joanna and Rebeca. They are two of the most sweetest, sincere people you will ever meet. They are the kind of people you want to be your friends and luckily I can call both of them a Friend. We all met while learning photography, and who would have thought that I would later share one of the most important events in my life. It was the birth of my daughter Serenity that brought us closer than I ever thought possible. It started off with both of them photographing my maternity session, her birth, and finally her 1st newborn pictures. That same week, we set up my inside studio where they both collaborated and took pictures of my little angel. This was the one time that I didn't have to worry about being the person behind the camera. I was able to sit back, (well take it "easy" because I had just had a c-section) and relax while they took photos of my new family.
